Ernährungskompetenz ist die Fähigkeit, theoretische Kenntnisse und praktische Fertigkeiten im Ernährungsalltag in angemessenes Handeln umzusetzen. [Quelle: Bundeszentrum für Ernährung].

Ernährungswissen, Fähig- und Fertigkeiten im Umgang mit Lebensmitteln sowie das Bewusstsein über das eigene Essverhalten sind Kernkompetenzen des Konzepts der ernährungsspezifischen Gesundheitskompetenz (nutrition-specific health literacy). [Quelle: Krause et al. 2016]

Gesundheitskompetenz von Kindern und Jugendlichen

Gesundheitskompetenz wird in der Kindheit entwickelt.  Trotzdem werden Gesundheitsthemen in deutschen KITAs und Schulen immer noch zu wenig behandelt.

Mit dem Themenschwerpunkt “gesund und jung” will das DNGK auf diese Problematik aufmerksam machen.
